L.A. Cetto 2020 Petite Sirah is great value at $15. A dry, full-bodied red wine produced from old vines in Baja California from the largest winery in Mexico established in 1975. Deep and dark red in the glass, look for ripe dark fruits, plum, cracked pepper, meaty and smoky flavours concentrated on the palate. Enjoy with steak and cheese enchiladas.

Petite Sirah food pairings: lamb cutlets, hamburgers, espresso and cocoa-rubbed flank steak, black bean soup, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

It is not often in Ontario that you find a wine from Mexico but fortunately I was able to pick up a bottle with the latest vintages release. This Petite Sirah is deep purple in colour with aromas of plum, blackberry, smoke, vanilla and black pepper. It is full bodied with medium acidity and medium-high tannins. On the palate you get flavours of plum, black pepper and blackberry with a medium dark fruit finish. The flavours are enhanced if the wine is chilled as recommended. This will pair well with grilled red meat dishes. A great value wine at $15. Tasted on January 13, 2024.
L.A. Cetto 2020 Petite Sirah is great value at $15 and has been a long-standing Vintages' customer favourite. Look for ripe dark fruits, smoked meat and cracked pepper spice flavours on this full-bodied, fruit-driven red from Baja, California. Enjoy with a smoky chicken mole. - Community Wine Reviews
