Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lots of umami in this smooth Manzanilla Sherry, richer than Fino, with savoury, nutty and saline elements. Enjoy with seafood stews, Spanish Jamon, Asian cuisine or your favourite mushroom dish.
Tasted Nov. 2018
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Manzanilla is a great contemplative wine that packs in terroir and style. It isn't often that expensive, either. Fresh, dry Sherry made within Sanlucar de Barrameda.
Hidalgo's style leans towards the light on their feet, aromatic Sherries. Lighter Finos and this Manzanilla are their style. Even their Amontillado is pleasantly light and bright.
Pale straw colour, this is true to style in the way it carries a coastal salinity with it. Almond, pear, mustard seed, smoke, and lemon.
A fresh and flavourful wine to pair with delicately seasoned olives or anchovies.
Hidalgo's La Gitana Manzanilla sherry from SanlĂșcar De Barrameda is a dry with salty floral and citrus flavours. Enjoy now with aged Manchengo cheese and roasted nuts. - Community Wine Reviews
