Simply amazing, especially at this price. This old vines Baco Noir from Niagara has all the stuffing you want but none of the heaviness. Aromas of black cherry and spice. Perfect for turkey dinner or roast chicken.

Baco Noir food pairings: venison, lamb or steak, spicy pasta dishes with rich tomato sauces.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Henry of Pelham does Baco Noir so well, once you taste it, you won't forget it. Made from old vines that offer intense aromas and flavours of black currant and blueberry jam with a touch of graphite. Rich and luscious. A super accompaniment to venison and game. Excellent value, too.

Baco Reserve

Deep, rich, purple wine. Lovely aromas of jammy dark fruit, cedar and smoke with intense cassis, raspberry, fig and dark chocolate flavours. Smooth, lingering finish. A real treat from the Niagara wine region. A Henry of Pelham specialty!
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The aromas on this Baco hit you before your nose gets to the glass; smoke, spice, dark chocolate and dark jammy fruit. Lots going on in the glass. No surprise there is lots of structure as these vines were planted in the 80's and 90's. Medium to full body, medium acidity and tannins. Long fruit finish. Pair with BBQ ribs hot off the grill. Tasted Oct. 4/2016
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From vines planted in the '80s in the Short Hills Bench appellation, this Baco really packs a lot of flavour into a glass. Tons of ripe, jammy fruit, along with cedar, smoke and a hint of dark chocolate. The colour is beautiful, deep and intense. This wine is intense on the palate as well, although surprisingly refined when you look at the colour. Fruit, smoke and spice are well balanced, tannins are smooth, and finish is medium+. Perfect for anything on the grill or a hearty pasta dish.
Dianne Sheridan - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep, intense purple colour with the aromas of spice, dark chocolate, dark stewed fruit, leather, smoke and vanilla. Smooth, medium long finish and well balanced. Serve with steak or ribs.
