Fleshy yet subtle, full-bodied yet balanced Californian red wine. Loaded with ripe black plum notes on the nose. Lots of layers of pleasure. This wine is made mostly from Merlot grapes with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah. Specifically, there's 81% Merlot, along with 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot in the blend sources from vineyards such as Stage Coach, Keyes, Red Barn Ranch and Bosche. Long, satisfying pleasant finish. Decant for an hour for maximum pleasure. This reputable California producer is no slouch when it comes to balanced and delicious Merlot. Lots of dark fruit and toasty oak. Pair with grilled pork chops.

A superbly balanced and elegantly presented merlot from a well respected producer. Black plum dominoes the bouquet. The palate is rich with more jammy plum, mocha, oak and spice. Lengthy finish. This wine is a blend of merlot (81%), Cabernet Sauvignon 11%) and Petit Verdot (8%). Recommended decanting prior for 1-2 hours.

This wine shows the characteristics of Merlot in spades. Sweet plummy aromas followed by full bodied textures and sweet plummy core.... obvious oak makes this a BBQ wine.
From the Napa Valley, Freemark Abbey (2014) is a mainly Merlot wine blend of 81% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot sourced from the Stage Coach, Keyes, Red Barn Ranch and Bosche vineyards.
