The 2014 vintage of this blockbuster Châteauneuf du Pape is a blend of mainly Grenache grapes along with 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, with some minor bits of other grapes. Robust and towering southern French red wine from the heart of the Rhone Valley, with black and dark red raspberry and blackberry aromas. Violets, anise and dark spices on the palate with a velvet smooth texture and ultra-long finish. Perfect dinner party wine or gift wine. Pair with hearty meat dishes. Will cellar well.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: roast leg of lamb, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
