An excellent value Bordeaux brought to us by Baron de Montfort. Great structure, balance, depth and finish. Firm grip with the tannins on the palate and big black fruit and toasty oak. Decant 2 hours. Full-bodied yes, and somewhat high alcohol for Bordeaux, but it doesn't taste hot. Superb value. The 2010 vintage was superb for Bordeaux in general as well as for this Cabernet Sauvignon blend in particular. Pair with rare steak.

Food pairings: veal, fajitas, roasted eggplant, meat topped pizza.

Chateau de Monbadon is 40 kilometres from Bordeaux. The winery is housed in a feudal castle built in the fourteenth century. There are 20 hectares planted in ferruginous (iron rich) and clay and limestone soils. This wine is a blend of 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 70% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc grapes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
