Classic cassis and blackcurrant aromas in this robust red wine from one of Argentina's best winemakers. Savoury, juicy and full-bodied. Great price! Try it with a hearty meat dish. Mendoza is considered the premium wine region of Argentina, with its backdrop of the Andes Mountains. Although it is better known for Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon is on the rise and is done in a both rich and vibrant red wine style.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pepper steak, beef empanadas, chicken cacciatore, venison burgers, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fragrant & flavourful with ripe cassis, mint and vegetal hints, a bit of tannic pull.
A classic with beef dishes.
Tasted Feb. 2018
Benmarco (2014) Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic blackberry, black currant Cab Sauvignon with wine grapes sourced from Gualtallary and from Los Árboles in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. After twenty years of working as a consultant winemaker both in Argentina and around the world, Susana Balbo decided to open her own winery, Dominio del Plata. In 1999, Susana rented a small winery and began her first batches of wine. Initially the production was quite small. The first batches of the Susana Balbo and Ben Marco lines were released in August 2000. - Community Wine Reviews
