A juicy, savoury Shiraz with ripe dark fruit, baking spice, mocha and, as its name suggests, pepper spice flavours finishing long on the palate with velvety tannins. Great acidity for food like a roast beef, or braised beef brisket.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled ribeye steak, roast boar, slow-braised beef long ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

A whopper of an Aussie shiraz but so much more than just power, it offers some elegance too. Dense, dark and smoky with licorice notes. Firm tannins will allow for some ageing. A lovely eucalyptus and minted chocolate finish. Serve with balsamic glazed steaks with mashed root vegetables. @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very full-bodied and high-end valued Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, Australia. With spicy aromas including black pepper, the palate too is spicy along with the taste of dark fruit. Powerful stuff- this wine can be aged for several more years or decant and serve with barbequed ribs or steak.
Estate E&E Black Pepper 2016 is deep and dark ruby in the glass, powerful on the palate with ripe blackberry, anise, pepper spice with smoky vanilla flavours rich and concentrated. Tannins are structured and fine-grained. Pour with aged cheeses, bison burgers and game dishes. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
E&E Black Pepper 2016 Shiraz is a plushy, rich and full-bodied red with grapes sourced from the Barossa Valley Estate. Look for blackberry liqueur, kirsch, sweet spice and savoury notes finishing peppery on the palate. Nice, long finish. Pair with a roast beef dinner. - Community Wine Reviews
