Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A nice, refreshing bubbly from the Loire featuring lively tropical fruit, lemon zest, mineral and yeast. A touch sweet for my liking. 88 Points Serve well-chilled. 88 Points.(ottawawinejournal.com)
Simon Chen rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A bit disappointed with the wine by itself. A hint of yeast and toasty aromas. Green apple, citrus, and medium body. Bubbles only last ~3secs. It's better paired with salmon, in which the fat from the salmon cuts down the acid and makes the wine more rounded.

Gold Medal at the 2013 Concours des Vins du Val de Loire. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, undated. For over two centuries, this pioneering company founded in 1811 has developed the techniques for Loire sparkling wines. If its current range sometimes opts for modernity, it remains faithful to the tradition with this Grande Réserve non-vintage, released following the 2008 harvest. Three grape varieties - Chardonnay (60%), Chenin and Cabernet Franc - are blended in equal amounts. Fermentation takes place at low temperature, and it's aged for thirty months for a fine mousse. The result? A wide range of flavours, combining tropical fruit and citrus notes of brioche, ripe fruit and quince, fresh and harmonious palate with lovely notes of evolution. A remarkable classic, which impresses with its elegance and delicacy, and leaves a feeling of lightness throughout the tasting. Score - 2 Stars (out of 3). Source: Guide Hachette, 2013
