Denise and Carlos Figueroa established the vineyard in 1995 using "old world" viticulture practices. Vines were planted 3 feet apart in the rows, individual planting holes were augered without disturbing the original soil structure. Average yields were ~1 ton per acre. The resulting wines produced deep complex flavors and exquisite bouquets.
Happy Holidays! The 2010 harvest was very unusual and very late (by one month). As a result, only two new wines are being made this year, a 'Wild Rose Blush' wine (Merlot & Pinot Gris blend) and a new Pinot Gris port-style wine. The wines are tasting wonderfully and are due to be bottled within the next two months.
Installation of our new vineyard addition (due west of us) is progressing slowly. Deer fencing and main irrigation lines are to be installed in 2011.
