Hours of Operation: The Boutique is open May to October, 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and from November to December on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 to 5:00 pm.
Tour Hours: July through September every Saturday at 1:30 pm
Catherine Langlois is the owner and winemaker of Sandbanks Estate Winery. She started her career studying Hotel and Restaurant Management where she earned a scholarship to study winemaking in Burgundy. Upon returning to Canada, Catherine became a wine representative at another large Ontario winery. In 1999, she started looking for her own property in the County.
One year later, she planted 2.5 hectares (6 acres) of vines, mostly Vidal, Baco Noir, Riesling and Cabernet Franc, as well as some Geisenheim, Pinot Noir, and Maréchal Foch. Our philosophy is that all great wine begins in the vineyard! We personally tend to our six acres of vinifera and hybrid grapes.
The vines are planted south-facing within sight of Lake Ontario, which moderates the temperature during the year. They are rooted in soil composed of well-drained clay and limestone rock.
