We started our winery and vineyard in 2005 but the origins of Ramseyer Vineyards go back long before that. My dad was a home winemaker in the 1960’s and our entire family had a hand in picking, crushing and pressing the grapes every fall. We rarely missed a vintage until my dad died in 1986.

I had a dream of making wine and farming a vineyard of my own. Five years ago, Heather and I found the perfect vineyard site in Zillah. At a thousand foot elevation, this 70 acre former apple orchard was perfect. We planted five acres of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec in the spring of 2007.

Our first two wines, as limited and relatively unknown as they are, have led us to new and exciting places and introduced us to many new friendships this past year. Our third release (scheduled for May 2010) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. We produced 300 cases of this wine and it will be available through our customer mailing list.
