Old records witness that vineyards existed in Verzy from the year 700 and the presence of the Sacy family can be traced back as far as 1633. At that time Bartelemy Sacy owned a vineyard at "The Champ Saint-Rémi" near Verzy which is situated in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Since then the family has always lived in Verzy and today Alain Sacy cultivates 20 hectares (75 acres) of grapes and produce Champagne of the highest quality.
