The chemistry of producing wine is cast in stone, but the heart and soul of winemaking is an inventive dance with Mother Nature that is always full of surprises. At Le Chateau, we want to share an element of surprise along with the pleasure of sampling superbly crafted wines. Thus the entrance to our winery is a light hearted ‘faux chateau’ - pass through the door to find the ‘truth’ in every bottle.
Le Chateau wine grapes are sourced from vineyards scattered throughout the channeled basalt flood plains of eastern Washington. Disguised as a semi-arid wasteland to the uninformed eye, these rugged steppe regions are surprisingly well suited to producing some of the finest vinifera fruit in the world. We live in a world brimming with pleasant surprises. Our simple philosophy - seek them out and enjoy.
