In 1983 Columbia Crest winery opened its doors in the heart of Washington state’s Horse Heaven Hills. Nestled alongside the Columbia River in eastern Washington, Columbia Crest has grown from a small winery in a relatively unknown wine region to one of the most significant wineries in the U.S. and a major force behind Washington state’s emergence as a world class wine region.
Winemaker Juan Muñoz Oca’s mission is to craft affordable, highly-acclaimed wines that consistently over deliver in quality. The Two Vines wines made to be fruit-forward and approachable, the Grand Estates wines are artisan crafted and offer luscious, balanced, and distinctive fruit flavors. The “H3” wines are made from fruit grown in the Horse Heaven Hills appellation and showcase the unique terroir of the growing region; and the handcrafted, small-lot Reserve wines reflect the best of Columbia Crest’s winemaking and vineyard selection.
In 2009, the winery reached a milestone when Wine Spectator named the Columbia Crest 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon the No. 1 Wine in the World, the first time Washington wine has received the ranking.
