Vintages Wine Picks August 21, 2010

White Wine

Bodega Andana Accuro Classico Torrontes 2009, Mendoza, Argentina: Vintages Wine Panel: Oh! the lovely Torrontés, Argentina’s signature white wine. Medium yellow-gold. Intense, pretty nose of grapefruit peel, lemon meringue pie, peach preserve, and exotic flowers. Just off-dry, medium bodied, and quite fruity with an enticing, musky fruit core. Bright acidity ensures wonderful balance. If you would like to broaden your white-wine repertoire, then you must try this super-aromatic, true-to-type Torrontés. My note: So pretty! Lovely rose petal and lychee with field flowers blowing in summer sunshine. Love it! Pair with: Cajun catfish, jerk chicken. 179416 13% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 89/100.
