Vintages Wine Picks October 12, 2013

White Wine

Domaine Riefle Côte De Rouffach Pinot Gris 2009, Alsace, France: Vibrant with green apple and white peach. This is so flavourful, especially for Pinot Gris. Open your world and your senses. This expressive, aromatic and elegant pinot gris finishes clean and crisp. Excellent focus, purity and length on the finish. Pair with: avocado and papaya salad, basil pesto, frittata. Drink: 2013-2016. 223917 14.10% D 750 mL  $20.95 Score: 88/100. October 12, 2013 Terrific Turkey Wine Full Review Add to: Shopping List Cellar

Red Wine

Domaine La Fourmone Trésor Du Poète Vacqueyras 2010, A.C., Côtes Du Rhône, France: Pitch-black with incredible depths of black fruit flavours and some dark spice at its core. A toweringly huge wine with a long finish. Layers of rich fruit flavour and complexity. This red really delivers on quality for the price point. It would be amazing with hearty meat dishes. Decant 2 hours. Pair with: chicken, lamb cutlets, bean soup, quiche. Drink: 2013-2020. 194704 14.50% XD 750 mL  $22.95 Score: 92/100.
