Values Wine Picks July 30, 2012

Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: November 15, October 16, August 3 and June 18.

White Wine

Crush Gewurztraminer 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Lovely complexity and layers of flavours: rose petal, lychee and baking spices. Perfect for spicy dishes and Asian. Nicely balanced. Amazing price. Pair with: Chinese food; shrimp stir fry; California rolls; Chicken Panini with Munster cheese; turkey wraps; apricot and pine nut rice pilaf; grilled salmon with hoisin glaze.
