Values Wine Picks July 30, 2012

Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: November 15, October 16, August 3 and June 18.

White Wine

Benjamin Bridge Benjamin Bridge Estate Vero 2010, Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada: Very crisp and mouth-watering with come-alive lime aromas and flavours. Sun-dappled lemons dance on the finish. Pair with: Nova Scotia seafood, Malagash Oysters, Digby scallops, Fundy lobster and line-fresh haddock. Also, an ideal accompaniment to light summer fare.. Drink: 2012-2014. 695555000188 11% D 750 mL  $21.99 Score: 88/100. July 30, 2012 Full Review Add to: Shopping List Cellar

Red Wine

The Little Grape That Could Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Argentina, argentina: A juicy, full-bodied smooth wine with purple and black plum flavours. Simple, but a great price. Here's the iinovative tie-in: 100% of profits for this wine go to the charity that select. Interesting and worthy concept. Drink: 2012-2013. 277020 13% D 750 mL  $11.95 Score: 86/100.
