White Wine

Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc 2011, Western Cape W.O., South Africa: Chenin Blanc is the great undiscovered, under-valued white wine of South Africa -- and the world. You must try this once. This is a great example with seductive aromas of Asian pear and something I can only describe as black apricot. Oak imparts baked bread and wraps this wine beautifully. Baking spices on the finish of this exotically wonderful wine. Drink: 2014-2017. 675421 13.50% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 91/100. March 15, 2014 Best Value White Wine. Red Wine

Inglenook Rubicon Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Rutherford, Napa Valley, California, United States: A full-bodied cabernet with classic aromas of cassis, blackcurrant and vanilla smoke. This is a towering wine of great complexity and depth. Decant 2 hours, or better yet, give it cellar time. Pair with: rare beef. Drink: 2014-2020. 703967 14% XD 750 mL  $239.95 Score: 92/100.
