Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc 2011, Western Cape W.O., South Africa: Chenin Blanc is the great undiscovered, under-valued white wine of South Africa -- and the world. You must try this once. This is a great example with seductive aromas of Asian pear and something I can only describe as black apricot. Oak imparts baked bread and wraps this wine beautifully. Inglenook Rubicon Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Rutherford, Napa Valley, California, United States: A full-bodied cabernet with classic aromas of cassis, blackcurrant and vanilla smoke.
