Bouchard Père & Fils Meursault Les Clous Chardonnay 2010, A.C., Burgundy, France: Lovely, rich hazelnut nose mingles with green apples, peach and Asian pear aromas. Great length and elegance. This is classic Old World chardonnay with tremendous balance and finesse. Perfect for dinner parties. Pair with: lobster, chicken, salads, roast turkey. Red Wine

Capitel Nicalò Tedeschi Appassimento Classico Superiore Valpolicella 2011, D.O.C., Veneto, Italy: Black cherry liqueur richness and depth of flavour, though this is a dry wine. Full-bodied with terrific and satisfying layers of flavour. Great value in this bottle. “Appassimento” means "drying" and refers to the fact that the grapes are dried before pressing, which adds richness, depth and flavour to the wine. Some pepper, smoke and black cherry on the finish. Pair with: grilled meats, light stews, ravioli, grilled vegetables, hamburgers, lamb ragout with fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano.
