Kim Crawford East Coast Unoaked Chardonnay 2012, Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, East Coast, New Zealand: Fresh and crisp with no oak. Citrus character from Hawke's Bay combines with tropical fruit from Marlborough. Malolactic fermentation with 7 months on the lees to impart richness and creaminess: gives the impression of oak without the heaviness. Butterscotch notes but still ultra-fresh fruit. J. Lohr South Ridge Syrah 2011, Paso Robles, California, United States: A plush, supple red with lovely aromas and flavours of juicy plums and a satin smooth texture. Jerry Lohr is one of California‚Äôs Central Coast most well-known winemakers, consistently producing admired wines. This syrah could well be your new best friend in a bottle.
