Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

[ Compress ] Red Wine

Errazuriz Carmenere 2009, Aconcagua Valley, Chile: A profusion of fleshy ripe dark berries and plums wrapped in spices a little pepper. Fine, silky tannins and a rich, mouth-filling weight. The French oak on this wine gives it a lovely vanilla-smoke finish. Drink: 2010-2015.  10673575  13.50%  D  750 mL  $12.95  Score: 88/100. July 22, 2010

Errazuriz Max Reserva Pinot Noir 2008, Casablanca Valley, Chile: Vibrant cherry-berry aromas waft up from the glass and these gorgeous flavours roll across your palate. This is a full-bodied Pinot but not heavy. Loads of hedonistic pleasure for those who enjoy wine thorughout the evening. Drink: 2010-2014.  13.50%  D  750 mL  $18.95  Score: 89/100. July 22, 2010

Errazuriz Don Maximiano Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, Aconcagua Valley, Chile: European elegance meets New World cncentration and power. This wine has it all: spectacular dark fruit flavour, great strcture and a finish that (almost) lasts until you open the next bottle (you hope). This is Chile's icon flagship wine: drink it to understand both where the country has been and where it's going. Superb! Drink: 2010-2020.  501247  14.50%  XD  750 mL  $79.00  Score: 95/100.
