In October 2006, Arthur Motley of Whisky Magazine gave this Scotch a score of 8.5 out of 10. The producer’s name is pronounced “Weems.” Pretty, orange/copper color; impeccable purity. Opening smells of caramel corn, honey, new leather, and baking spices are pleasing and straight forward; following another seven minute aeration stint, the ‘bouquet turns woodsy, spicy, and a bit minerally. Palate entry is chalky, sooty, and slightly metallic; mid-palate adds tastes of grain/barley, dried nectarine, white raisins, and orange rind. Finishes on the sweet side of the ledger, with noticeable touches of oil and peat. Recommended. Above average. Score: 3 (out of 5) Source: F. Paul Pacult, Wine Enthusiast
