Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: May 22, March 7, January 4 and December 16.

Tasting note:

Grapes were sourced from the Oliver, Okanagan Falls & Naramata vineyards. Juicy and loaded with fleshy blackberries, smooth and full-bodied. Toasty oak on the finish. Food matches: robust meat dishes or intense dark chocolate.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Valerie Stride rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

What's not to love about BC Merlot? This is a fine example of how Merlot as a varietal can thrive in Canadian climate, and show itself well in wine. Dry and expressive, this Merlot is chalked full of cherry, plum, chocolate, and dark berry goodness with toasty oak to boot. Hints of coffee guide the medium length finish. A real treat if you can get your hands on a bottle! Enjoy it for me if you do!
Merlot from five different vineyards is truly a winemaker’s luxury. After lengthy blending sessions we then extended our traditional 22 month barrel aging program to 26 months to allow more maturation before bottling; thereby crafting an excellent reflection of the vintage. Rich plum, chocolate shavings and spiced berry in the nose. Dried cherry, cola and leather in the palate. Superb finish with hints of exotic spice. Great early structure.
