Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Seductive nose with mouth-watering acidity that makes it great with a wide range of dishes. Luscious and smooth and full-bodied. This wine was aged for 18 months in French oak. Food matches: BBQ lamb, beef brisket, pork tenderloin, lamb ragout with orecchiette.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Our Syrah comes from both our vineyards in Oliver; Tinhorn Creek (Golden Mile
Bench) and Diamondback (Black Sage Bench). One third of the 2008 Syrah was
fermented in open top fermenters and the remaining two thirds in small stainless
steel tanks. It was aged for 19 months in new to 2 year old French oak. It was then
blended together before bottling after which it spent approximately 18 months
bottle aging.
