A big, black Bordeaux with New World power and fruit. The flying winemaker, international influence is evident. Delicious and boldly assertive.

Stéphane Derenoncourt is now what is called a flying (or consulting) winemaker. He made his reputation at places such as Château Pavie Macquin and Château Canon La Gaffelière. No vintage is stated on this collection of wines. The cuvée and terroir are the kings here, not the vintage, but we’ll let you in on the secret: it’s from 2008, and it’s very good. Aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, black cherry and sandalwood are in their prime time here. Dry with a load o’ structure (fruit, tannins and acids) for excellent ageing potential (3-5+ years). Top-quality wine from a vintage that is going through a much-deserved re-evaluation. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
