 | South African winemakers have made “coffee style” Pinotage something of a specialty. The technique involves no actual coffee beans, but rather rich, coffee flavours achieved through the toasting of French oak barrels. In almost alchemical fashion, when the toasted barrel meets Pinotage, strong coffee flavours emerge. The velvety-smooth texture of Pinotage provides an ideal backdrop for this tastefully innovative style. |
