Tasting note:

Earthy and mature with leather and cigar box. A fantastic price for such an evolved wine. Smooth and full-bodied. Almost makes me want to read a long novel, but I think I’d rather have another glass and then a nap.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Gabriel Israel rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Outstanding for the price! Another seller from the 2006 classic vintage. On the nose, sweet cigar box and leather. On the palate, full body, round with dark sweet fruits flavors. Decant for an hour and enjoy with any food - from pasta to sushi - it just works!
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blue and blackberries moving to briars such as black raspberry, cedar and sandalwood, meshed with great acid and firmer tannins. Really needs time to open up. Toast and chestnuts develop on the finish. I'm 89 on this wine. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Wine Guy rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

a light red wine, light spice on the nose, notes of mint with earthy tones, a little thin with light body, not bad value, would appeal to those looking for a lighter Italian wine
Very perfumed, offering blueberries, sandalwood and blackberries on the nose. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a fresh finish. Beautiful aromas. Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Mammolo. Drink now through 2015. Score: 91 Source: James Suckling, jamessuckling.com
