Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: A Barbaresco that proves not all Nebbiolos need serious cellaring time. Aromas are rife with raspberry, cocoa and coconut. Dry with fine aroma replays, plus moderate tannins bringing balance and structure. Yet the tannins do not overwhelm this pretty wine; they partner the fruit beautifully. Cellar it 3-5 years or enjoy it tonight. My note: Tannic and robust with edgy aromas of red and blackcurrant, black cherry, truffle. Some spice box on the finish. Needs time. Food matches: roast beef with root vegetables and mashed potatoes.
