Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: After 300 years of continual Port production, Taylor Fladgate can rightly claim to be masters at their craft. This ready-to-serve aged Tawny is close to perfection. Taylor’s trademark is rich apricot and dried fruit flavours and lengthy, nutty, honeyed finish. Just as with the 10-year-old version, once opened this will last for several weeks. My note: The 20-year tawny has even more richness, depth and complexity than the 10-year tawny and all of its caramel, toffee, almond goodness. This port floods the senses with its aromatic depth and voluptuous texture. This wine is part of the Vintages Essentials Collection. Food matches: crème brûlée, hazelnut torte.
