Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: Nero d’Avola is thought to be a distant relative of Southern France’s Syrah and often displays similar berry and spicy elements in its makeup. It is known for its intense color, high sugar levels and firm acidity. An interesting aspect of this variety is how sensitive it is to the type of soil it is grown in and the way in which it picks up the flavors of its terroir. This wine has an opaque core and a ruby rim. The glass brims with rich floral, berry, plum and earthy notes. Dry, soft, very full and fruity with a zippy acidity and a medium-long finish. Have it with a meaty pasta dish. My note: Juicy with black fruit and a mocha-coffee finish. Lovely balance and great quaffability. Silky and smooth: goes down slippery fast. Food matches: carbonara sauce, meats in wine marinades.
