Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Dan Trcka rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2007 Sebastiani Merlot has intense aromas of black currant, figs, smoked meat, toasted oak and vanilla. It is medium bodied, integrated, with balanced acidity and grippy tannins (decant for 30 min) and with a medium to long, smooth finish. It is a sipper and will go well with food; drink now – 2018. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90-91 pts – recommended based on both value and quality. Tasted March/13.

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of raspberries, burnt sugar, currants, and kirsch liqueur followed closely by leather, iron, dried tobacco, and singed applewood on the surprisingly long finish. At $17, this wine is well within reach, and is worth buying 6-12 bottles for everyday drinking. 89+ points. - Rachel (ottawawinejournal.com)
Solid value for a nicely developing Merlot. Shows fresh cherries and currants along with notes of fruit leather and cured meat, all embroidered by subtle mocha and vanilla spice. Medium bodied with a silky texture, integrating tannins and a fruity core. Some lifted raspberry and baking spices add further intrigue on the finish. Drink over the next 4-5 years. Medium-bodied & Fruity. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Jan. 2013
