Vintages Wine Panel: Founded in 1840, Sandalford Wines is one of Australia’s oldest and largest privately owned wineries. It’s situated in the picturesque countryside of the Swan River Valley, less than a 30-minute drive from downtown Perth. This approachable Aussie Shiraz is a deep red with loads of blackberry and complex spicy layers on the nose. It’s dry and medium-bodied with a rich and satisfying finish. My note: A seamless, blackberry-scented wine with savory game and spice notes. Lots of layered flavor here with a warm, satisfying finish. A lusty Shiraz for cold winter nights. Food matches: lamb chops, barbecued beef ribs, hearty lamb stew, pork mole pablano.
