Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: Bodegas Salentein’s winegrowers follow the precept of “nature plus nurture.” The verdant farmlands of Salentein are home not only to quality wine grapes, but also to livestock and a variety of fruit crops handled, as they put it, “with respect for ecology”. This 2006 Malbec is flavor-packed and easy to enjoy, showing dark berry and plum fruit heightened by smoky oak and mineral notes. My note: Generous black cherries on the nose followed by licorice, cedar, black plums and smoke. A terrific effort from this producer. Food matches: beef wellington, prime rib steak, cheddar cheese, rack of lamb with rosemary, sausages.
