Food matches: t-bone steak with mushrooms, marinated venison steaks, gourmet herb & spice burgers on the barbecue. In winter, slow cooked hearty casseroles and roasts. Winemaker, Marc Scalzo recommends individual beef wellingtons with mustard creme fraiche.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Dan Trcka rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2008 Rutherglen Petit Sirah, aged in French oak for 12 months, is medium bodied and with intense aromas of fruity to integrated raspberry, red currant, bilberry and pine/oak. It has a good balance, refined tannins (decant for 30-60 min) and a long finish. Drink now or age till 2020 standing up (screw cap). My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts and a recommended buy - this wine is great for sipping. Tasted July/12.

2008 in Rutherglen dry and moderately warm conditions resulting in great flavour development and wine balance. Yields were lower due to small berry sizes, adding great intensity of colour and flavour. Petite Sirah
Rutherglen clone, unique to other regions of the world is late ripening and the extended ripening develops it full flavour and structural potential.
The winery deliberately picks the grapes at varying stages of ripeness in order to maximize the spectrum of flavours and keep alcohol levels in balance. Harvest is at cool temperatures and then soaked 48 hours before inoculation and fermentation with a spicy Rhone yeast. The finished wine is aged up to 13 months in a combination of large French and American oak barrels, approximately 10% is new oak. Cellar potential up to 10 years.
