Tasting note:

A robust, big bruiser of a wine with aromas of black fruit and smoke. Supple on the palate with more robust flavours coming through. Cries out for a juicy steak! Food matches: steaks, game, venison, savoury meat dishes, casseroles.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Intense varietal berry and stewed cherry notes, mixed fruit spice, licorice, chocolate and sweet vanilla as result oak treatment. Finished wine is aged for up to 12 months in large French and American oak barrels, approximately 15% is new oak. The wine won Gold at the Rutherglen Wine Show 2009. Australian wine writers have awarded it from 91 to 96 points and 4 to 5 stars out of 5 stars, This Petit Sirah is deliberately picked at varying stages of ripeness not only to maximise the broad spectrum of flavours and aromas that the variety can display, but to produce a balanced, well structured and refined wine without the excessive alcohol levels with which Petit Sirah wines are often associated. The spelling of Petit Sirah was chosen with the advice of the winery's American distributor.
