Road 13 Vineyards Syrah Mourvedre 2011
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
 | 93% Syrah & 7% Mourvedre The 2011 Road 13 Syrah-Mourvedre shows a dark ruby-violet hue from the grape bunches being well exposed to sunshine. The nose is lifted with complex notes of pepper, vanilla pod and orange peel. The rich and vibrant nose also shows delicious aromas of clove, blackberry and dark chocolate. The palate of this wine is rich, sexy, round, and voluptuous with generous flavours of blackberry, chocolate, violet, vanilla and orange blossom. The 2011 Road 13 Syrah-Mourvedre is a great example of what the Southern Okanagan can do with this classic Southern Rhone style blend. It is a powerfull, fresh, youthful wine with assertive tannins, great spice and an impressively long finish. |
