Tasting note:

There it is again: that unmistakable, exotic aroma of old tanned leather and cigar smoke. Love it! Try a mature wine like this if you haven’t and discover the many pleasures of “tertiary” aromas that only develop with bottle age. This is simply some kind of wonderful. Full-bodied, smooth and elegant. Food matches: braised lamb.

Are you kidding me?! If you like Rioja Gran Reserva wines, buy a case (yes, 12 bottles) of this amazing value. It has everything a good bargain has to offer - lots in the bottle for more than a fair price. Rich nose. full of flavors. And with a color like that another 5-7 years in the cellar with no effort.
This is a funky, intensely mushroomy Rioja, its earthiness merging into cool blue fruit with a spark of minerality. Reductive when first poured, it needs air to refresh its flavors and bring out the juiciness in the fruit. Score - 92 Source: Wine and Spirits
