Tasting note:

Marvellous! Darker and more fruitcake than typical tawny but I love it just the same. This is a criminally low price. Food matches: almond-based desserts, dark chocolate, apple-cinnamon flan.

Quinta do Noval is considered one of the finest Port houses, and this non-vintage Tawny shows why. Medium ruby colour. Nose is bursting with raisin, menthol, chocolate cherry, dark chocolate, spice cupboard and marzipan. Medium sweet with a refined and impeccable balance. Great bones here, with tannins and bright acidity that, unusual for a Tawny, suggests you could cellar it, if you must. But why wait? This long-finishing, delicious Port is an ideal partner for almond-based desserts, high-quality dark chocolate or apple-cinnamon flan. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
