Grandaddy of Red Zinfandel. Beautiful aromas of chalky minerals and red briars move to black raspberry, date plum, spice, and clean earth on the palate. A little short on the finish. I'm 89 points on this wine. (ottawawinejournal.com)

Primitivo wines from Puglia (the high heel on Italy’s boot) have an exuberant and charming character that provides instant gratification. Step right up and give this beauty a try. Pretty nose with mulberry, floral, dark plum, cherry, cola and light spice notes. It’s dry, silky smooth with jammy dark berry fruit flavours balanced by bright acidity and moderate tannins leading to a fairly long finish. A tasty little number.
