The robust Tannat grape, of Madiran in Southwest France, is a rising star in Uruguay. Here it’s tastefully paired with Merlot. Thrilling combo – the Merlot beautifully softens the Tannat. Decadent aromas of blueberry tart, blackberry, woodsmoke and cocoa powder. Dry with generous fruit tones, good weight and ripe tannins giving it structure. The finish is a nice confluence of fruit, leather and smoke. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.
