Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Juicy, round and plummy plush with a lovely river of black cherry running through the core. Terrific balance with a pleasing blackberry-infused finish. Food matches: grilled red meats; mushroom based dishes; rich vegetable stews; 1 year old cheddar; duck breast; pheasant; quail; venison burgers; Portobello burgers..

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
WINE MAKING
? Harvested from selected vineyard sites within the Niagara Peninsula.
? Fermented on skins for 14 days to develop colour, flavour and structure (tannin).
? Aged for 12 months using 100% American oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation.

FLAVOUR PROFILE
? Garnet colour with an intriguing bouquet of sweet oak and cedar, plum, black pepper, cherry, cocoa and humidor.
? A medium-bodied wine that has drying tannins and good structure.
? Rich flavours of black plums, black cherry and smoke fill the mouth.
? Juicy black fruits, spice and cedar linger on the finish.
