More Reviews

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
WINE MAKING
- Harvested from selected vineyard sites within the Niagara Peninsula.
- A classic blend of 47% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Merlot.
- Aged for 12 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels (25% of the American oak are new, remainder are neutral barrels) with full malolactic fermentation.

FLAVOUR PROFILE
? Purple black with a bright purple rim colour and a fruit-forward bouquet of blue plum, cherry, and red and black berries complemented by notes of sweet cedar, vanilla and dried herbs.
? A medium-bodied Meritage with velvety tannins.
? Flavours of rich black and red fruits are dusted with sweet spice.
? Juicy black fruits, sweet vanilla and cedar linger on the finish.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM:
? Silver Medal – Grand Harvest Awards, Sonoma California 2009.
? Silver Medal – Canadian Wine Awards 2009.
? 4 ½ stars out of 5 – “This is the first Meritage produced at Peller and likely the top red in the Private Reserve lineup… a crowd-pleasing wine with plump, juicy dark fruit and vanilla notes and velvety tannins.” Vines magazine, September/October 2009.
