More Reviews

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
WINE MAKING
? Harvested from selected vineyard sites within the Niagara Peninsula.
? Traditional red wine making.
? Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels (12% new oak, remainder 1 and 2 year old) with full malolactic fermentation.

FLAVOUR PROFILE
? Purple black with a vibrant purple rim colour and a rich bouquet of sweet black currant, black cherry, plum, tar, mint, leather and black pepper.
? A medium-bodied Cabernet with firm youthful tannins and moderate acidity.
? Plenty of rich black fruit flavours fill the mouth.
? A leathery dry finish with notes of black currant.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM:
? 4 stars out of 5 – “The Peller Private Reserve wines continue to show serious improvements of late. This brawny Cabernet is one of the most serious, age-worthy reds to come out of the cellars in recent years… this opens in the glass to reveal currant and cherry as well as leather and spice notes…” Vines magazine, September/October 2009.
? Bronze Medal – Canadian Wine Awards 2009.
