Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: May 22, March 7, January 4 and December 16.

Tasting note:

A gorgeous elixir of honeyed apricot goodness and rich peach preserves. Makes a wonderful dessert wine on its own or with fruit-based desserts. Food matches: paté, foie gras, salty appetizers.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
WINE MAKING
Naturally frozen Riesling grapes are hand harvested from Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards at -10°C.

Grapes are pressed frozen, releasing only one drop of pure extract from each grape.

Fermentation is performed at a cool temperature to retain fruit concentration then aged in stainless steel.

FLAVOUR PROFILE

Straw yellow colour with an intriguing aroma of lemon drops, quince, Bartlett pear and golden raspberries, with just a drizzle of floral honey.

A luscious yet elegant mouth-feel with fruit flavours of lemon, melon, papaya, mango and orange.

Great balancing acidity on a perfectly sweet palate, finishing with flavours of lemon drops, marmalade, quince and floral honey.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM:
Gold – Best of Class – Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition 2009
Silver Medal – International Wine & Spirit Competition 2009, UK.
Silver Medal – International Wine Challenge 2009, UK.
