On colour, you’ll note a dark ruby red hue that actually borders on garnet. On the nose, there are definite wisps of plum, spice and some smokiness. On the palate, [sigh] it is smoothly received. You’ll note tastes of plum, cherry, light herbaceousness, and refined tannins, all brought to you with a medium to long finish.
This is consistently a top-quality Dolcetto and the 2010 is particularly brilliant. Dark ruby in colour, it’s bursting with purple berry fruit, plum, spice and mineral aromas. Weightier than most Dolcettos, it’s dry, plush and packed with concentrated berry-fruit flavours and hints of spice. The balanced acidity is well integrated on this long-finishing wine.
