Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Gambero Rosso Italian Wines awarded this wine 2 Glasses (out of 3), which is its ‘very good to excellent’ rating (2012). Barbera d’Asti was awarded its DOCG in 2008. The wine must be 85% Barbera, with the rest made up of Freisa, Grignolino or Dolcetto. To be a Superiore, it must be aged at least one year in the winery (six months of which must be in oak or chestnut), and exhibit a higher natural alcohol by volume than the regular Barbera d’Asti. Look for blackberry, pomegranate and spring flower aromas and flavours. Enjoy this fresh, vibrant wine. Source: Vintages Panel
