Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Full-bodied and blackberry-rich; this a tasty red. Classic notes of cassis and blackcurrant. It's got a good grip from the tannins so decant 1-2 hours first. Food matches: roasted duck with cherry sauce or spicy beef fajitas.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Harvest Report: All regions throughout the 2007 vintage commenced with welcoming spring rains that provided a boost to the vines encouraging excellent fruit development. The months leading through to ripening were mild and dry resulting in well balanced fruit characters.

Winemaker’s Notes: Vinified in a mixture of static, rotary and open top fermenters, for up to a period of eight days on skins, with pumping over and heading down. After pressing, the wine was matured for nine months, with some components in contact with one to three year old French and American oak.

Taste Profile

Colour: Youthful crimson red with purple hues.
Bouquet: Vibrant nose displaying fruit aromas of cassis and black olive with a subtle varietal mint lift. Chocolate and cedar oak notes add complexity.
Palate: Youthful wine displaying ripe blackcurrant and chocolate oak flavours. Further complexity and length is added by the combination of varietal fruit and oak tannins resulting in a long structured, supple finish.
