Marchesi De' Frescobaldi Tenuta Di Castiglioni Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Tasting note:
Vintages Wine Panel: Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese rounding out the blend. Filled with raspberry, vanilla, cedar, cherry and sweet spice aromas. Dry with lively acidity and lots of fruit. Moderate to firm tannins bring it all together. International in style. Will benefit from 3+ years in a cellar, or decant it and enjoy it tonight. My note: Savoury with notes of cedar, meat, leather and smoke. Not hugely fruity. Love this style. Balanced, mouth-watering, full-bodied and supple. A good gift wine. Food matches: rare veal chops with a demi-glace.
