Tasting note:

Nebbiolo-based wines of Barolo rarely come at this price, so now is the time to sample this Piedmontese classic. This vintage also offers an opportune sneak-peek at the character of this wine. Aromas of plum, truffles, raspberry and cedar. The tannins are firm and there will be plenty of fruit here to bring balance. A real gripper but I like it! Big, black with a tarry streaking through the middle. Black cherry resistance and some dark spices. Perfect for black magic nights. Food matches: beef stew.

The great Nebbiolo-based wines of Barolo rarely come at this fine a price, so this is the perfect opportunity to sample this prime example of a Piedmontese classic. A good complexity to the aromas with black fruit, wood and spice, plus a lifted note of roses. The palate is dry and ripe with firm tannins that are kept in balance by the depth of fruit. More spice notes with leather and redcurrant also present. Ideal for hearty mid-winter fare. It’s also cellarable 2-4+ years. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
